KIFURU MOBILE CLINIC CENTER

For about thirty years, the Theresian Sisters have been providing health services though a Mobile Clinic to a population of roughly 3000 in Kazimzumbwi Ward. This ward comprises of the villages of Kifuru, Visegese, Sanze, Kazimzumbwi and neighbouring villages of Kisanga and Kola. They are located in Kisarawe District, Coastal Region in Tanzania.

While there is a rapid population growth in this area, there is an acute limited access of residents to the nearby health facilities. Residents have to walk for 12 kilometers to the nearby dispensary to get basic health services.

It is the intention of the Theresian Sisters, in collaboration with health facilities staff, government authorities, and other stakeholders to expand their health services from that of mobile clinics to permanently stationed activities of the Health Centre. They will, therefore, be in a better position to establish preventive, curative to promote health services to this area.
